Dissertation is dedicated to forming in senior form pupils dialogical reading devices for fiction texts which are the leading factors which predetermine the effectiveness of reading activity. The structure and psychological mechanism of dialogical reading have been defined. The psychological characteristics of the text which predetermine an active interaction of the reader with it have been revealed. The criteria of degree of communicative readers' competence formation have been grounded. This competence is one of the components of general readers' competence. A complex of psychological and pedagogical conditions which guarantee the formation of dialogical reading devices in the process of studying fiction books have been revealed. The program of their forming has been worked and tested.
