Оbject: the training of the pedagogical department students for providing economic education of elementary school pupils. Aim: to ground theoretically and to test pedagogical facilities of training the students of the pedagogical faculty to provide economic education of junior pupils. Methods: molding experiments; criterion analysis; mathematical statistics. Findings: for the first time pedagogical facilities for effective training students have been determined: criteria for professional preparedness have been elaborated; the subject-matter of such concepts as "economic education", "economic thinking" and "economic consciousness" have been specified.
