The hortative function of the language and the means of its realization in the pracess of the speech activity. To investigate the category of hirtativity of the contemporary Ukrainian language in the progmatic stylistic aspect. The methods are descriptive, contextual, comparative, transformational, the method of observation. For the first time in Ukrainian linguistics the systematic analysis of content and structural oeculiaritive of hortative utterances was undertaken as viewed from their function in concrete situations of the speech communication. They can be employed while solving the tasks of functional-semantic and pragmatic analysis of language phenomena.
