Essay

The thesis is given over to analyzing structural brain changes in those participants in mitigation of the consequences of radiation accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant affected with discirculatory encephalopathy. The main scientific concepts of the thesis are based on comparison of the brain magnetic-resonance scanning data, clinical presentations and the results of previous computed tomographic scanning of brain (performed prior to enrolment of the patients in the research program).The thesis presents the characteristics of particular phenomena that are detected in the process of magnetic-resonance scanning of the subjects' brain, determines their neurological accords. Based upon of the results of examination of patients with different clinical stages and disease duration, the author suggests an explanation of tendency and peculiarities of development of pathological structural brain changes in patients with discirculatory encephalopathy of atherosclerotic and hypertensive genesis.
