Essay

The dissertation explores theoretical and practical aspects of the legal status of the bodies of joint stock companies based on the complex research and analysis of business legislation and implementation practices existing in Ukraine and other countries. The dissertation scrutinizes the legal issues arising in the course of management of joint stock companies, analyzes procedures for interaction between their bodies (i.e. the general meeting of shareholders, supervisory board, executive body, and audit commission), and defines the role of these bodies in the corporate governance structure. Special attention is devoted to the study of powers and organization of activity of the joint stock companies' bodies, as well as to procedures and principles for the establishment of the supervisory board and executive body. The dissertation contains theoretical and practical conclusions and recommendations for further development of the science of business and joint stock company law, and for improvement of legalregulation of the activity of the joint stock companies' bodies.
