Maiboroda O. Ukrainian Phraseology as a Source of Ethnology

Object of research — phraseological units inner form. The purpose of work — to define phraseological units inner form and to show, as phraseology — the regional geographic factor — represents a picture of the world (the Ukrainian reality in time and space). Methods of research — comparative -historical, descriptive, structural, pragmatical. The extensive phraseological material as a source of the linguistic and ethnologic data is investigated, phraseological units are commented. In order to determine the phraseological unit inner form correctly, components of the units have been subjected to etymological analysis, and the genetic roots of some phraseological components have been thought. Research of concrete material enabled new observations on the state of phraseological unit inner form: the units change under the influence of lingual and extra-lingual phenomena.
