Essay

The dissertation is the first monograph in Ukraine on the issue of gender equality, its implementation in Ukrainian legislation, discrimination based on sex and legal mechanisms on its elimination. Detailed analyses of the key interna-tional human rights documents on gender equality standards and comparative analyses of the gender sensitive legislation of the European countries is devel-oped. Grounds for using some elements of such legislation in Ukrainian legisla-tion aswell as propositions for gender equality improvement and mechanisms for elimination of discrimination against women in Ukrainian legislation are defined.
