Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problems of forming, focusing and controlling of electron motion in high-perveance electron beams, as well as styding of their interaction with periodical structures and material of a target. These high-perveance electron beams are formed via longitudinal compression of space charge. The methods both well-known in physics of electron beams annd suggested new ones for diagnostics were utilized to study these processes/ The results obtained enabled creation of series of electron guns having beam power from o.5 to 150 kW, as well as BWOs f X-and Ka-bands, working in monochromatic and chaotic regimes. Investigation into the controlling such electron beams and their interaction with metals enabled increasing in efficiency of some electron-vacuum technologies: evaporation and welding of metals vacuum cleaning of metals, etc.
