Essay

Object of the study: Patients with obturation ileus of the large intestine of tumor origin. Purpose: To develop and introduce into practice a system of measures which allow to reduce the number of post-operative complications, including purulent septic in patients with obturation ileus of the large intestine of tumor origin, to individualize the ap-proaches to treatment of these patients by introduction of the known and the original methods for prevention and treatment of the complications, to reduce post-operative mortality. Methods of investigation and equipment: Clinical method of the patient's state evaluation, dynamic observation. Additional tech-niques: retroromanoscopy, colonoscopy with determining the tu-mor morphology, ultrasound and x-ray study, Gold's technique, diffusion method, elution method. Theoretical and practical results: A complex approach to treatment of the patients with OILI of tumor origin was worked out. Therapeutic and diagnostic program was developed. Novelty: Amethod ofphotochrome antisepsis in the area of anastomosis and colostomy was worked out, its efficacy was evaluated in vitro and in clinic. The prevailing microorganism spectrum in the area of anastomosis and dissemination of the intestinal wall with these microorganisms were studied both before and after photochrome antisepsis administration. Diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms in patients with OILI of tumor origin were developed and introduced. A new technique of forming colorectal anastomo-sis in OILI of tumor origin was worked out. Degree of introduction: The developed therapeutic and diagnostic program was introduced into the clinical practice of Institute for General and Urgent Surgery (Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine) and into the work of abdominal department of Kharkiv Regional Clinical Oncology Hospital.
