Dissertation is devoted to material capacity reducing, increasing effectiveness of energy sources application, decreasing power units design expanses based on development of mathematical modeling methods and working out design recommendation for rational structural parameters and technical characteristics of power units of press gun for hydrodynamic stamping. Complex mathematical model of thermodynamic processes, taking place in the system "barrel-charge-barrel", and model, describing barrel dynamic deformation process under applied loads are worked out in the thesis. Practical recommendations for choosing rational shell length and mass, forcing pressure, gap value between bar-rel wall and shell, charge densities are resulted. Process of barrel heating at press gun working is analyzed. Estimation of equivalent stress, occurring in the barrel, is worked up. Design engineering method, which permits to predict barrel strength with high precision and to determine barrel wall thickness, is worked out. Thesis results are applied on the "Motor Sich" joint stock company and "Khai-Service".
