Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the comparative legal research of the basic institutes of the local government in the USA and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The dissertation includes short description of the historical basis of local government in the UK and in the USA, information about the systems of local government authorities in the USA and in the UK, information about the legal bases of the local government authorities' jurisdiction and the financial ensuring of the local government authorities' activities, description of the organization of the local government in the USA and in the UK. At the end of the work the author gives basic conclusions and some propositions on the way the experience of the UK and the USA can be used during the local government reform in Ukraine.
