Essay

The distinctive feature of the offered design models is, that their major components, such as: structural load-bearing ability, actual operational loads and reliability are submitted as stochastic variables caused by stochastic relationships of change of physical, mechanical and geometrical parameters of composite materials. For the first time a comparison weight criterion of structures made of homogeneous and composite materials is developed, taking into account stochastic values of variation and asymmetry factors, their mechanical characteristics and tendency of delivered semi-finished items. The areas of expediency of load-bearing elements replacement, made of high-strength steel 30XCH2MA-ВД and titanic alloy BT-22 are determined on the basis of this criterion.
