Bozhko Y. Prepositional-case model of Ukrainian phraseological units.

The research work investigates Ukrainian phraseological units of a prepositional-case model and the ways of their formation.The structural-grammatical model of analyzing units is "a preposition + a case form of a notional part of speech" (a noun, an adjective, a pronoun, a numeral and a substantivised verb).The author deals with the formation of the model itself, its dynamics and the special features of phraseological nomination. It is emphasized that the reason of phraseological peculiarities of a preposition and a case form lies in the process of their compression of their meanings to a single meaning. So far as the phraseological units of a prepositional-case model have grammatical meaning of an adverbial modifier, their semantic structure resembles a semantic structure of an adverbial modifier. Among the phraseological units of this kind there are the phraseological units of time, place and direction, measure and degree, phraseological units with a meaning of purpose and reason.The analysis of a semantic connection of the investigated phraseological units of a prepositional case model as well as lexical units can have homonyms, synonyms, antonyms. They can be also polysemantic ones.
