Essay

The investigation object is the radial expansion and radial compression of the hollow workpiece with the use of master-punch and high-pressure liquid. The investigation objective is to enhance the technology of cold plastic shaping of the hollow billets for the tools from instrumental steels by means of radial expansion and radial compression, which is performed through determining of rational processing regimes using high-pressure liquid. Theoretical and experimental investigation methods, hydroextrusion and hydro-forging equipment, tensometers, metallographic tools and mechanical testing facilities have been engaged. Methods of the radial expansion and radial compression of the tools’ billets under high hydrostatic pressures, mathematical models of these processes, methodical recommendations to design the processes have been developed.
