Essay

Аntihypertensive therapy with enalapril or enalapril in a combination with hydrochlorotiazide and (or) atenolol were carried out in patients with essential hypertension. Positive dynamics of ambulatory BP monitoring data during antihypertensive therapy with enalapril or enalapril in a combination with hydrochlorotiazide and (or) atenolol were accompanied by an improvement of a psychological condition with reduction of alarm-depressive, hypochondriac and psychasthenic disturbances, autism and affective rigidity. Changes of the psychological status with decreasing in optimism and difficulties in interpersonal contacts promoted unsatisfactory results of antihypertensive therapy. The probability of a constant antihypertensive therapy interruption raised in patients with the psychological features reflecting disturbances of social-psychological adaptation, and young patients with easier course of the disease. Psychological features of patients with "white coat hypertension" and "white coat" reaction were noted.
