Kuznetsova S. Political leadership: the essence and mechanism of formation in Ukraine.

The dissertation is dedicated to disclosing of the essence of political leadership and of the mechanism of its establishing in Ukraine. The theoretical and methodological approaches towards studying of political leadership were classified; typology and principles of its formation were designated; the concept of official leadership in the frames of power and governmental functions and institutionalization in infrastructure of the state institutions, political parties and organized groups, alternative general elections was studied; the state and top-priority factors (tendencies) of its development in Ukrainian society were established; the basic (institutionalized and personalized) compounds of a mechanism of formation of political leadership in Ukraine were determined; the specific character of political and organizational activity of political institutions in formation of qualitative characteristics of a leader were determined; the effectiveness of a leader formation mechanism in Ukraine through controlling influence of mass media was studied.
