Essay

Object of research: the urban soils of Kharkov. Purpose of research: determination of the main regularities, peculiarities and tendencies of urban soils development, their geoecological func-tions and role in regulation of urbolandscapes properties. Meth-ods: field investigation, chemical-analytical, comparatively geo-graphical, cartographical, statistic-mathematical. Results and novelty: geoecological state and geoecological functions of urban soils in urbolandscape were determined; the degree of pollution with heavy metals depending on structure and peculiarities of urban soils was ascertained; specific properties of Kharkov urban soils development in comparison with the other cities were revealed. Usage area: Constructive geography, optimization of urboland-scape.
