Essay

The dissertation substantiates theoretical foundations of the study of anthropogenically modified landscapes from the standpoint of genetic and landscape science. The content of the genetic and landscape science research of modern anthropogenically modified natural environment is revealed. The conceptual principles of this study are formulated and a set of applied methods is presented. Understanding of anthropogenically modified landscapes as natural landscapes variants is a leading position in the research. Research principles used in the study of anthropogenically modified landscapes are the basic principles of landscape science: emergence, which is a property of landscape complexes as a whole, taking into account the individual nature of the landscape-organized terrestrial surface, its spatial-temporal hierarchical structure, causal relationships between landscape components, the principle of non-equivalence of factors of landscape formation. The principle of anthropocentric assessment of modified landscapes is to optimize the nature management. The principle of taking into account the purpose of a particular study of anthropogenic landscapes determines the selection of criteria, methods and indicators of their assessment. In the landscape-geochemical part of the study it is necessary to understand the landscape-geochemical systems as the basic properties of landscapes.
