For the first time the pharmacоgnostic study of leaves of 8 species of genus Bergenia, Saxifragacaea family, has been carried out. The objects of the study were both extracts from Bergenia leaves and leaves of Bergenia crassifolia, Bergenia соrdіfоlіа, Bergenia ciliata, Bergenia stracheyi, Bergenia delavayi x media, Bergenia pacifica, Bergenia hymalaica, Bergenia gorbunovii The presence, qualitative and quantitative determinations of flavonoides, tannins, oxycinnamine acids, gallic derivatives, phenolic glycoside, carbonic and amino acids, carbohydrates, carotinoides, chlorophylls, tokoferols, fatty acids, micro elemental and lectins have been determined with the help of physico-chemical and chemical methods of analysis. 20 individual compounds (4 aglycones, 4 monoglycosides and 2 biosides of flavonoides, 3 oxycinnamine acids, 4 gallic derivatives, 2 C-glycosides, 1 phenolic glycoside) have been isolated. The antiviral activity of extracts of Bergenia crassifolia has been first determined. The activedose and minimum allowable dose of extract have been defined.
