Essay

The fine polarization structure of vector random fields is considered in the thesis. The system of peculiar points and their multitudes are analyzed. Such multitudes contain L-contours and C -points. The method of investigation of the characteristics of polarization singularities in optical wave band is elaborated. The method is based on the analysis of a set of the scalar polarization projections by conventional method of space "fork"-interferometry. The concept of equiazimuthal lines ( -lines), which characterize vector field is introduced. The relationship between different kinds of polarization singularities (L-contours and C -points) is found. The experimental checking of obtained relations is performed. Such relation allow us to unit the single singularities into one singularity system. The sign principal for single C-points is formulated. Due to that C -points may be connected into the C-singular network. The suggested principal was verified experimentally. The results of investigation of the elementary polarization structures obtained by the technique of computer generated holograms is presented. On the basis of these results the possibility of creating the "self-converging" optical traps is considered. The computer simulation and experimental verification of the proposed method are performed.
