Object - vegetable production and processing in individual households, agricultural enterprises and canning industry plants of the Kherson region; objective - development and substantiation of theoretical and practical principles o the intensive production organization in vegetable canning under market conditions; methods - theoretical analysis and synthesis, mathematical and statistical; novelty - scientific essence of the notion "production intensification" has been deepened, the system of intensity and efficiency indices of the vegetable canning industry within market economy was adjusted; basic trends in agribusiness integration in the canning branch were theoretically and practically grounded; main lines of the industry's development in the Kherson region to the year 2007 were predicted; the concept of the infrastructures support of the canned vegetable market was further developed; results - the concept of a balanced development of all structural elements of the canning industry in market conditions on the basis of introducing intensive technologies has been worked out; it is proposed to create in the Kherson region a zone of growing super early ripening vegetables and sowing the most productive vegetable varieties and hybrids for seeds; recommendation to improve the economic mechanism underlying relationships in the canning industry and also to use modern marketing technologies in canned products promotion are provided; introduced by the Central board of agricultural management and provisions, and by the Board of the processing industry and food stuffs under the authority of the Kherson regional administration; application sphere - canning industry enterprises.
