The dissertation is a theoretical and experimental research on the problem of formation of pupils' comprehension of mastery of author's literary work. The author introduces scientifically grounded and practically examined methods of literary text analysis with an emphasis on the writer's mastery and proves its specific purpose and effectiveness. The methods suggested are supposed to provide an educated reader (pupil) capable of giving an adequate evaluation of the verbal work of arts and to determine the writer's role in the creation of literary work.
