Blednyh T. Historical narratives and novels discurs of Valeriy Shevchuck

The basic stages of developing of the Ukrainian historical fiction have been examined in the study. There were marked two tendencies of this genre: the historic-artistic and art-historical ones. It is proved that the modern features of the Ukrainian historical prose are neobaroque style and the expansion of temporal event-trigger frames and psychologism. The Valeriy Shevchuck prose was analyzed in an analytic part of the dissertation. The main author's idea is that freedom of choosing is necessary for realization of man's liberty. In the study are considered the features of individual author's style. It was shown that the writer's innovation consisted of connection of traditional, modern and postmodern art modes.
