Sverdan T. "Cutting-off" as a type of structural-semantic variation and a way of transformation in phraseology

The dissertation deals with the problem of complex analysis of the factors and consequences of the process of "cutting-off" of Ukrainian fhraseologisms which usually takes place on the background of intersection of the phenomena of phraseology, syntax and wordformation. The systematic character of the process has been proved by means of investigated structural-semantic patterns of full invariants; the complicated and dynamic interrelation of language resources and extralinguistic realias which accompany the process has been investigated. The functional nature of the cut-off phraseologisms, their real and potential stylistic qualities have been revealed on the basis of cognitive-processing modeling of phraseological units in action, the results of psycho-linguistic investigation and contextual analysis.
