Тhe Thesis is primarily devoted to scientific substantiation of the methods used to develop the artistic-creative thinking of students of the first years of study at musical lessons based on Ukrainian folklore; the pedagogic interpretation of artistic-creative thinking is given; the component composition of artistic-creative thinking is developed; the pedagogical potential of folklore has been disclosed on the basis of syncretic-integral perception of its images. The substantiation is given and experimental testing was performed of the phases of development of the artistic-creative thinking of students of the first years of study by means of folklore under conditions of musical lessons; the mutual interrelation and complementary nature of the process of artistic-creative thinking and musical-creative thinking development have been emphasized.
