Essay

Rat liver regeneration following partial hepatectomy and transplantation of freshly isolated hepatocytes and the ones following hypothermic storage under sucrose-based solution at 4°C within 2 days and cryopreserved human embryonic hepatic cells. Ttransplantation of hepatocytes both freshly isolated and after hypothermic storage resulted in liver mass renewal, augmentation of glycogen content in hepatocytes, significant shortening of a hexenal sleep, promoted normalization of total bilirubin content, reduction of leukocytes number in peripheral blood of partially hepatectomised rats. Transplantation of cryopreserved embryonic liver cells resulted in the recovery of liver mass, rise of glycogen content in hepatocytes, normalization of detoxicational function, studied by the hexenal sleep duration and the level of average molecules in blood serum of partially hepatectomised rats. There has been noted a positive effect of cryopreserved embryonic liver cells on peripheric blood indices . Hepatocytes hypothermic storage in sucrose-based solution under 4°C did not affect their capability of stimulating liver regeneration in partially hepatectomised rats.
