Dissertation is devoted to research of the problem of usage of humanitarian possibilities of physics in the process of teaching it at secondary school. Model of humanitarization of teaching physics in the process of studying optical phenomena in the VIII-th and II-th forms of secondary school is worked out. It is based on cognitive, person-centered, activity-creative and axiological components. Main directions of physics teacher's work in realization of humanitarian principles in teaching process are defined. Prior aspects of cognitive component of humanitarization of teaching physics are determined. They are: ecological, emotionally-aesthetic and historical aspects.
