The survey of the evolution of the higher education institution divelopment of the last XIX, early XX c. has been carried in the dissertation. The method of the investigationof the architectural environment have been worked out on the basic of the inventoring card. The development of the historico-formed higher education institution architecture complexes was observed at the different levels - the level of the plot, the level of the building complexes appearance, the level of the each separate building exterior and interior and the level of the objective filling. The stages of the architectural development of the higher education institutions complexes on Lviv example were established. The leading principles of the architecture environment forming of the higher education institution complexes were exposed. The recomendations of the preservation, using and hereditary development of the historical architecture complexes of the higher educational institutions were treated in the dissertation
