Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying of adjectonimic system of modern Slovak literary language. As for this work it is for the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics that main approaches to studying adjectonymy put forward by Slovak linguists are considered. The word-formation potential of Slovak adjectonymy is described in the dissertation. Toponymes being the structural base for derivation of adjectonemes are classified according to lexico-semantic and grammatical peculiarities, ways of formation, structure, suffixes.
