Essay

The thesis is dedicated to studying of yeast in soils of various climatic zones and hemagglutinating ability of fresh isolates and museum strains, establishment of behaviour of biosynthesis lectins of some yeast strains and studying of their characteristics. The quantitative and species structure of yeast in soils with Mediterranean (Evolutionary canyon, Israel and reserved grove "Martian", Crimea), moderate-continental (Kirovograd and Kyiv area, Ukraine) and subarctic climate (Kolyma lowland, Yakutia) was determinated. Wide search of lectins among different groups of yeast has been carried out for the first time. The ability to synthesize extracellular lectins and lectins of the connected form has been established. Fresh isolates of soil yeast have shown higher hemagglutinating activity, than the museum cultures. Physiological peculiarities of growth of producers, lectins formation of both form and influence on this process factors of external environment (temperature and time of growth, pH medium andcontaining of certain carbohydrate) are shown. The preparations of extracellular yeast lectins are obtained, their chemical composition, hemagglutinating activity and carbohydrate specificity to N-acetylneuraminic, D-glucuronic and D-gluconic acids and also for L-fukose and D-xylose are established.
