The thesis is dedicated to formation of complex systematic approach to definition of cognitive potential, theoretical-methodological basis and methodic-instrumental specific of network analysis in sociology. Based on five basic theoretical concepts of network analysis (prominence, cohesion, equivalence, range, brokerage) and three key objects of analysis (single actor, links, network structure) the classification of investigation tasks of network analysis in sociology is developed. The cognitive opportunities of network analysis using in sociometric researches are defined. In compliance with defined classes of investigation tasks and taking into account methodical specific of network data analysis the glossary of basic concepts of network analysis in sociology is developed.
