Object: Bohdan Lepky's historical stories. Objective - studying the vocabulary of B.Lepky's historical prose, its thematical and functional stylistic diversity in the context of general literary and stylistic norm. Methods: lexicografical and stylistic description of the vocabulary, semantic analysis including word-building and quantitative analysis. Theoretical value consists in detailed study lexical and morfonological variance of the Ukrainian language Practical value: the materials of this research work can be applied to studying the history of the Ukrainian literary language and linguistic didactic. Novelty: first the language and style of B.Lepky's historical prose has been researched in the context of his vocabulary variety. Also correlation between general literary and stylistic norms has been systematized. The phenomenon of the author's - non-codified vocabulary has been shown in the work.
