Thesis is devoted to the complex research of foreigners' legal status, who were on the territory of Russian Empire and other territories controlled by Russian Empire during the First World War. Formation of Empire's normative and legal base, which had regulated private and public rights of foreigners, its genesis and main characteristics during the beginning of the First World War were elucidated in this work. Peculiarities of foreigners' legal status - military men, namely military men of the countries which were at war with Russian Empire were studied. Special attention was paid to the status of prisoners of war. Comparative and legal analysis of international and Russian legislation, which had regulated this question was carried out; deficiencies of the latter were stated. Changes of civil and legal status of foreign subjects in Russian Empire, violation of property right during war were analyzed.
