Krishtal S. Structural-semantic analysis of the metaphorical financial terms in English and Ukrainian.

The dissertation deals with the comparative analysis of the financial terms, formed by means of metaphorical transference in English and Ukrainian. The paper singles out semantic models, which reveal associations typical of the sphere of knowledge under study, determines structural models of the metaphorical terms; describes systemic ties within the group of terms, formed by means of metaphorical transference. The dissertation studies metaphorical terminological word-combination in comparison with a phraseological word-combination built on the basis of metaphor; analyses ways of translating metaphorical terms into Ukrainian. The differences demonstrated by the languages in the process of metaphorical nomination are thoroughly studied and explained as a result of the combined influence of linguistic and extra-linguistic factors.
