Essay

The thesis is devoted to regional movements in the United Kingdom and to the regional policy of the British Government. The basic factors, definitions, political notions pertaining to regional problems have been systematized. Historical roots of regionalism in United Kingdom have been traced. Contents forms and ways of putting forward regional demands in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland have been elucidated. For the first time in Ukrainian political science the process of solving regional problems in a separate country, the United Kingdom in the context of European integration is considered. The impact of European integration on the regional policy pursued by the United Kingdom is shown.
