Essay

Functional relation between epiphysis and testicle were investigated at a blockade or stimulation of adrenergical, dophaminergical and serotoninergical systems of cerebrum, under testosterone and melatonin injections, and at epiphysis or gonad ectonomy during pubescence of male Gallus domesticus. A stimulating effect of a1-adrenergical cerebrum system on all links of epiphysis-hypothalamо-gonadal complex has been shown. Central a2-adrenergical, dophaminergical and serotoninergical systems of cerebrum have a negative influence on reproductive system and epiphysis. Direct positive relation between epiphysis and gonads of birds has been found out. Falling-off of pineal gland functional activity caused by gonad ectonomy has been shown here. Injection of melatonin and testosterone influences in different ways on functional activity of epiphysis and hypothalamo-hypophysial-gonadal complex of birds, depending upon dose and time of the injection.
