Vidolob N. Psychological and pedagogical conditions of Ukrainian mentality forming in basic school students (on the material of Ukrainian literature).

The dissertation deals with the substance and content of the psychological and educational notion of the Ukrainian national mentality. Principal theoretical outcomes of research on the Ukrainian mentality were analysed. Carried out was an experimental study of psychological and pedagogical environment favourable for effective formation of the Ukrainian mentality, using personally oriented technologies aimed at development of the best features characteristic of the Ukrainian people and practised in the educational process. The grounds were provided for the content of the Ukrainian literature and folklore, as well as for tutorial environment conditioning their effective use at lessons and in out-of-class activities. Necessary instruments were considered, required for development of the Ukrainian national mentality in basic school students.
