Ferensovych N. The characteristic of carbohydrate metabolism disturbances in hematologic patients under the influence of glucocorticoids and cytostatic therapy.

The dissertation is devote to studies of carbohydrate metabolism and its hormonal regulation in patients with immune cytopenias (IC) and malignant lymphomas (ML). Character and frequency of arising of hidden and evident carbohydrate metabolism disturbances in hematologic patients was determined, and methods of their correction were worked out. Differences in the carbohydrate metabolism states in patients with IC, who were treated with glucocorticoids (GC), and in patients with ML, who were treated with GC ant chemiotherapeutic adents, were presented. It was shown that development of carbohydrate metabolism disorders does not depend on the dose of GC and duration of the therapy. The thesis about the role of the hereditary predisposition to the diabetes mellitus in their arising was grounded. Methods of diagnostic of states of the hormonal regulation of carbohydrate metabolism were elaborated, and expediency of their application in the hematological practice was found out.
