Essay

The thesis is dedicated to complex investigation of the process of initiation and development of constitution studies in Ukrainian political and juridical perception. General characteristic of the evolution of the content of constitutional ideas and the Constitutions of XVIII - XX centuries are the matter of the analysis as well as the reasons and circumstances of the attempts to make first systematizations of their development. The peculiarities of the development of the constitutionalism in Ukrainian political and juridical perception within the period between the middle of the XIX till the beginning of the World War I is a subject of detailed research together with the analysis of theory and practice during the UNR-WUNR Constitutionalism period, the development of the ideas in the 20's of the XX century with the attempts of their realization in state building practice. The development of constitutional ideas after World War II is explored too. The major concern is paid to the fact that throughout the XX century the basis of the constitutional ideas in Ukrainian political and juridical perception made up the statements about the Ukrainian people's right for independence and the need to create sovereign, national, democratic Ukrainian State; it is also underlined that Ukrainian political and juridical perception is its development went through all stages characteristic for general process of the evolution of constitutional ideas and constitutions.
