Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying the process of senior school learners' self-determination in their life, as well as psychological and pedagogical conditions of its support and stimulation by means of psychological education. The essence of this self-determination and its psychological peculiarities in juvenile age has been grounded, and an attempt has been made to structure subjective component-determinants of noted self-determination. This work makes psychological and pedagogical research of the efficiency of psychological education of senior school learners. The experimental program of special course in psychology for them and methodical recommendations to implement it have been developed and tested successfully. The results of the formation experiment, made on the basis of schools from the Sumy region, have shown: senior school learners' enriching with basic psychological knowledge and elementary psychological techniques is an effective way to help them in life self-determination and personal self-development. The contents of psychological education course created by the author, learners' activity (cognitive, communicative, practical and creative one), which has been organised deliberately, stimulate and enrich qualitatively the important components of personality psychological organisation - worldview, value-and-purpose and motive-and-need ones, which, being harmoniously united, provide self-determination of senior learners in life.
