Golovanchuck L. Teaching Target Country Cultural Competence in English at Basic General Secondary School

The dissertation deals with the problem concerning teaching target country cultural competence in English at basic general educational school. The thesis deals with the problem concerning teaching target country cultural competence in English at basic general educational school. The methodology has been theoretically substantiated and practically developed. The problems solved in the reserch represent an approach in foreign languge teaching methodology that deals with the cross-cultural communication as a dialogue between cultures of target and native nations. The place and importance of the target country cultural aspets in cross-cultural communication has been shown. The structure and content of the target country cultural competence have been studied. The requirements to that teaching materials must meet have been specified. As a result of the reserch the system of exercises to teach target country cultural competence has been created and theoreticaly subsantiated. Its effectiveness was verified and confirmed in the process of the experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations concerning teaching target country cultural competence in English at basic general educational schools have been developed.
