The research is devoted to the study of systemic and local immunity in children in chronic adenoiditis and working out pathogenetic methods of treatment of this disease. The performed clinico-immunological study demonstrated that disturbances in systemic and local immunity were present in children with chronic adenoiditis, which can be regarded as a immune-deficiency state, the tissue of the tonsils being in hypofunctional state according to a number of morphological and immunological tests. Experimental in vitro studies on the culture of the tissue showed that the cells of the pharyngeal tonsil can be activated with Thiotriazoline in a wide range of immunomodulating effects, which was proved by morphohistochemical studies. Besides, potentiating effect of ascorbic acid on immunomodulating properties of Thiotriazoline was revealed. Addition of zinc activated the function of cytotoxic cells of the pharyngeal tonsil. Therapy for chronic adenoiditis in children was based on local administration of Thiotriazoline solution with ascorbic acid, which was accompanied with phonophoresis with zinc sulfate in the area of regional lymphatic nodes in a separate group of the patients. The performed treatment allowed to reveal high clinical efficacy of the suggested technique when compared with the traditional protocol of treatment of the above category of the patients, which was proved by improvement of local and systemic immunity parameters.
