Aleksandrova M. The culture and civilization: establishment of the problems in Ukrainian philosophical idea (late 19th – early 20th сenturies).

The object - Ukrainian thinkers' works; the purpose – the definition of evolution in Ukrainian philosophic idea and, correspondingly, attitudes of leading thinkers of the late 18th – early 20th to phenomena of the culture and civilization; the methods – culturologicanal, hermeneutic, structural and comparative analyses, general philosophic methodology; the novelty is stipulated by the choice of the research aspect. Views on culture and civilization in Ukrainian philosophical thought have not been included into the subject of special analysis so far; results - it is defined that since the late 18th century Ukrainian philosophic thought has been offering a unique tradition of “the critic of civilization” that has a paradigm of views, which can be called a “culturally-creatve” paradigm. A further path of Ukrainian philosophical thought in the late 18th – early 20th centuries can be characterized as estrangement from this paradigm and search for another - a “civilizational paradigm”; branch - theory andhistory of culture, philosophy.
