Boyko A. Domestic violence: sociological analysis of the phenomenon

The thesis is devoted to sociological analysis of domestic violence forms and peculiar features of communication process with violent character, and to review of state and non-government agencies activities in prevention and stopping DV, recommendations on upraising its efficiency. The sociological definition to DV is given; its features and functions are described. In the thesis the statement on prevalence of psychological violence forms is given and proved. The character of violent actions depends on DV agents' sex, age and some other demographical bases. It is logical to look at the problem of domestic violence from its conflict nature - violence is shown as a dynamic element of a family conflict. Actually as we use special family typology to describe definite violent forms, conflicting families are the most vulnerable to most of the DV forms. The thesis makes an accent on DV prevention assessment system and development, implementation of alternative ways of children - victims of DV rehabilitation,in particularly, the system of foster care.
