Essay

The dissertation is based on examination of 120 men addict to alcohol. Is summarizes theoretically the main clinical and pathogenetic mechanisms of pathology due to alcoholic intoxication. The received results revealed structural metabolic and energetic disturbances which allowed us to suggest metabolic system of diagnostics and athogenic therapy. Clinical neurological examination showed multilevel damage to the nervous system caused by chronic alcoholic intoxication. Highlighted main clinical peculiarities of neuro-logical disturbances in structure of chronic encephalomyelopolyneuropatic syndromes and showed their trend to worsening. Revealed interconnection between visual pathology and neurological impairments. Biochemical and biophysical examination showed that pattogenetically alcohol intoxi-cation of nervous system depends on exhausting of antioxidant system, impairment of bioenergetic homeostasis and protein exchange leading to functional and structural disintegre-tion of membranes. The research allowed us to get a positive results in treatment of the pathology with antioxidants, membranostabilising, neuromethabolic and combined therapy. Elaborated methods of therapy showed positive changes of biochemical parameters in all stages of chronic alcoholic intoxications and their faster improvement. Though clinical improvement was less evident and required longer courses of treatment. Main words: chronic alcohol intoxication, neurological disturbances, oxidating stress, dismetabolic disturbances, treatment.
