The dissertation deals with diachronous and synchronous investigation of Ukrainian musical terminology. Major periods of the development of Ukrainian musical terminology have been characterizet; main trends of termbuilding at each historical epoch under investigation have been determined. Lexical, semantic and structural peculiarities of Ukrainian musical terminology have been carried ont. The sources of the increasing of musical terminological system have been analysed; means and modes of terms derivation have been defined; wordbuilding models of musical terms have been determined.
