Object of the research: gender inequality in contemporary ukrainian society; Objective of the research: to develop conceptual basis of gender inequality analysis; Methods of the research: general scientific, quantitative; Theoretical and practical results: conseptual basis for further studying the problems of the gender inequality; The level of the application: for the first time there was applied conceptual model ''status - potential'' for sociological analysis of gender inequality, is improved the sociological understanding the social potintional concept;The level of the application: the results were applied in studying courses ''Sociology'', ''Sociological basis of social work'' for students of social work department of Poltava Institute of Economics and Law of Open International Institute of Human Development .
