Object of research - professional and pedagogical education of the future humanities teachers at higher educational institutions. The purpose of research - to work out and theoretically ground the content and methods of theoretical and practical draining of the future humanities teachers for their performing. The tutorial funetions in the system of distance education. Methods of research - theoretical, empirical and statistical. The theoretical results and novelty - the essence of the notion "tutorial functions in the system of distance education" was defined and scientifically grounded; the indices and criteria of evaluation of the professional and pedagogical readiness of the teacher to performing his tutorial functions in the system of distance education were revealed; the levels of the showing this readiness were characterized; the stages of the development and forming of the functioning of distance education according to its aim and interrelations of student and the teacher were distinguished; the content and the methods of theoretical and practical fraying of the future humanities teachers as tutors for the system of distance education were formulated. The practical result and the novelty: theoretical and methodological materials for the formulation of the content and the methods of the teaching process, armed at the formation of the tutorial functions the future humanities teachers are worked out. The subject and the degree of introduction: the special course of lectures "Methods of the tutor's work in the system of distance education" is worked out Efficiency of introduction: of the introduction is high.
