Essay

150 patients, who suffered from severe forms of acute pancreatitis, were examinated using modificated APACHE II system. Prognostic criteria were evaluated for complications of acute pancreatitis, multiorgan dysfunction and death. Influence of prolongated regional epidural blockade (at the complex of intensive therapy) was studied on several clinical and laboratory data, presense of complications, cases of multiorgan dysfunction and death. The results allow to use modificated APACHE II system for prognostication of disease and to recommend prolongated regional epidural blockade as the effective method of intensive therapy severe forms of acute pancreatitis.
