Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem of understanding by children, adolescents and youths of their personal experience. The author has discovered that the level of child's adaptiveness manifested in his/her ability to integrate his/her own personal experience could be investigated by means of the written narrative analysis. Determined were the semantic components of the narrative acting as markers, which allow estimating the adaptiveness level, i.e. the degree to which the child understands his/her personal experience. The relationship between the level of child's understanding of his/her personal experience and the quality of its reflection in the narrative was proved. The author provides theoretical grounds and experimental evidence for the conclusion that comprehension and adoption of the life experience exposed in the narrative is one factor of person's successful socialization. The projective technique of the adaptiveness level assessment through the narrative analysis was developed and verified.
